I am finding my LO isn't on a specific feeding schedule (except every 3 hours or so) and I am randomly picking a good time of day to offer solids. In the evenings after work, by the time we all get home, have dinner and such, LO is ready for bed! He is ready between 6 and 7pm. With that early bedtime, I find it hard to squeeze in his oatmeal or veggie in the evening. I feel like I am slacking in that department. Anyone else still trying to figure out a good schedule?
Re: Hard time settling into routine for solids?
What I do: I give her solids before her bottle. I give them before her second feeding of the day and before her second to last feeding.
Right now, that is what is working for us!
I'm having the same problem. I think this week I'm going to attempt to have it be the first thing I do when I get home. After I feed and bathe him, then I'll make dinner for my husband and I. This past week I attempted to try to feed him at the same time we were eating but that didn't go so well. I ended up just feeding him, and then eating my food cold.
Get used to eating a cold meal, it isn't any easier trying to serve and feed older kids, especially if you have more than one.
