I need make-up help please!!!

So I have noticed the last 2 months before AF arrives my skin is getting really dry, in patches.  I normally have used a cream to powder type foundation, but this seems to really show off the dry patches.

Any awesome facial moisterizers I should try?  Any foundation formulas that are better for this?

Honestly anything at the drug store that can be recomeended would be appriciated.  Thank you!

  • Have you tried a primer before your foundation? I'm sorry I don't have a moisturizer rec, I just use jergens lotion like the rest of my body.

    Stick out tongue  Me too!

I do not even know what a primer is, honestly.

  • Personally, I think it's worth it to buy a more expensive moisturizing cream even if you just use drug store make up. I would recommend Clinique.

  • I have very dry skin on my face. I have had little luck with drugstore moisturizers, sorry to say (Say Yes to Cucumbers is okay if I had to pick) . I really like an Origins "Vitamins" night cream but it's pricey-ish although it lasts a while. For daytime, I use an Oleg Henricksen vitamin C serum and moisturizer which are great.

My one new favorite trick is Avocado oil -- I apply it after the shower at night before night cream and it seems to have helped a ton and it is not greasy, absorbs right away and is like 7.99 on Amazon for a bottle that lasts forever.

I agree. Splurge on a moisturizer, and then you can still use inexpensive make-up with it.

    I also like Clinque (superdefense).

  • A primer will really help your foundation set, but not clear your dry patches.

Try coconut oil - it's awesome for so many things. Should help your dry patches.

Coconut oil is great and know a number of people who have stopped buying fancy lotions in favor of it.

This is a combo moisturizer and primer that could also work really well. I haven't tried this exact product but I love my other Smashbox primers.

This is the primer that I use. BEST. STUFF. EVER. Some of the other Smashbox primers make me break out, but this one is awesome.

  • wash your face with ponds cold cream cleanser and then apply the ponds face cream...my skin has been amazing since... other than that i would try Mary Kays normal to dry skin cleanser and moisturizer along with the primer before makeup app...they also have a dry skin foundation too.

  • Bioelements!!! The pumice peel is a manual microdermabrasion (a little pricey but totally worth it and lasts a long time) or the Quick Refiner will get rid of those dry patches. They also have a moisturizer for combo skin called Absolute Moisture. You can buy any of this on Ebay much cheaper than from a salon.
