toys in dishwasher

I was considering throwing a bunch of plastic toys in the dishwasher. Is this generally fine? I am guessing I can try it out and see what happens but thought I would ask just incase someone had a not so smart experience.

Re: toys in dishwasher

  • I do it all the time! Works great. I never use the heat dry, but I'd skip it in this case for sure. And use the top rack.

Also I skip the sani rinse if it's anything I'm really worried about (It's super hot and I've had it melt filmsier cups before).

I also throw stuffed animals, shoes etc. in the wash mashine. Clean in no time!

  • My mom always recommends putting them in a lingerie bag in the dishwasher.

  • I'm sure it would be fine. I never done it though usually I just through them in a bowl of baby Palmolive and hot water. Let them soak for awhile and then clean off and rinse.

  • I do it all the time too. The only problem we've encountered is the dishwasher will ruin the suction on suction cups. DS had a couple toys that stood up on suction cups.
