Christmas in Omaha

Our extended family has decided to spend our Christmas in your awesome city. All together we'll have 4 kids ages 1,2,3, and 4 and 8 adults. We'll be spending 3 nights there sometime between Christmas Day and New Years. My family has vacationed in Omaha before and we loved it. So I know about a few 'touristy' things, but I was wondering if anyone could tell me about anything off the beaten path. Maybe something fun for the kids to do and also something just for the adults. Last time I talked to my dad he was wanting to get a hotel downtown, so that's the area we'll be staying in. We're so excited about getting together in Omaha this year! TIA for any suggestions you have!

    Depending on when you come, there's a small town somewhat connected to omaha called papillion, and they do a nutcracker christmas thing every year which is really neat.

    Also, before your trip I would look up momoha.com its a group of moms that upload ideas, activities, and things going on in omaha every week.

    The Magnolia Hotel downtown is fabulous! They have free happy hour, cookies and milk for kiddos at bedtime, and a great free breakfast. Depending on your travel dates, downtown also has an ice skating rink which is fun for all ages. The community playhouse also puts on a fantastic version of the Christmas Carol.

    Check out the Orpheum.   They have the Nutcracker.  The childrens museum will help the kids burn up some energy, Also - carriage rides down town, ice skating,
