XP: Mirena Users ? (Past and Present)

I had my Mirena placed in January. I haven't had any issues until the last month and I'm trying to determine if I should have it removed.
The issues that I'm having are:
1) Weight gain. I started a strict diet from the end of July through late September and I lost 4 lbs. Not bad, but then this month I've gained 11 lbs. In one month I went from feeling pretty good to not having any clothes that fit comfortably.
2) My skin is horrible! I am breaking out in areas I've never had acne before (neck, back and hairline. I have a history of cystic acne, but did Accuntane in 2007-2008 and the only time I have had breakouts since was during first tri with both girls.
My question is if you have or had Mirena did you have these issues? If you removed it, did things improve? If you didn't remove it, did thing improve?
I'm doing the Mirena because we're not absolutely 100% sure we're done having babies, but I got pg with DD2 on the pill. I'm not sure what I'd go with if I have it removed? Paragaurd? TIA!

First, let me say that if my Eli had been a girl, he would have been an Ellie.
I had my Mirena placed last December, about 10 weeks pp. I've been BFing the whole time, so I don't feel like I've had much weight gain, but I've def. found it hard to lose much. My skin has also been TERRIBLE. I don't know if it's because I'm weaning right now and my hormones are just all over the place or if it's the Mirena.
Over all, I really can't complain. I mean, I haven't had one pp period and my OB doesn't expect me to, even once I've totally weaned. I really can't complain about that. I also got pg with DS on the pill, so I'm a little leary of ever going back to it.
I recently got my Mirena removed for other reasons than you listed. I absolutely loved having Mirena for the first 6 months. After 6 months I started spotting, and getting cramps. The spotting increased over time to almost every day, and after having it in for a little over a year I had it removed and found out it was falling out. I'm glad I went in! The day I got it removed I spoke to my doctor about why my nails and hair were so brittle. At the time I didn't even think the Mirena had anything to do with it, but within two weeks of getting my Mirena removed my nails and hair were back to normal. This is after dealing with incredibly brittle nails/hair for many many months (if not the entire time I had the Mirena in). I can't say for sure it was because of the Mirena, but I'm assuming it was. The issues you are having could very well be because of your Mirena, but there probably isn't a way of knowing without getting it removed.
My sister had a pretty awful experience with Mirena. She was also spotting everyday, and decided to get it removed. To make a long story short, her body had started to grow around the Mirena and she had to have it surgically removed. This is very rare, but it freaked me out and this is actually the reason I decided to get mine removed.
Last thing I would like to note, if you decide to get it removed I would know what you want to go with. I made the mistake of not going on anything right away because I wanted to think about it, by the time I decided I wanted to try nuva ring, I was pregnant! Note: We were not careful and were ok if it happened, but I was not expecting it to happen so quickly after having it removed! (And was absolutely thrilled it did!)
Good luck!!! Just because Mirena didn't work for myself, doesn't mean it won't work for others. I know many people who love Mirena!
