Let Talk Babymoon!

Hey ladies! Just curious, what you guys are doing for a babymoon (if you are doing one)?  I live in Ohio and we are looking at February for the trip.  Now the question is where... I would LOVE to go to a beach but think it would be more cost effective to stay within 5 hours of home (it would be Cabin-esque since it's winter and all).  

 Any suggestions?

What are you doing?

Have you heard of anything that was a must-do?

    We won't be going on one. We just returned from Hawaii and 2 days later found out I was pregnant. That kind of turned out to be our babymoon, and we just didn't know it yet.

    We will be going to Sav/Tybee at some point. We love it there and go at least once a year anyway, so we will turn it into our babymoon!

    We already had a long weekend trip to the coast planned the first week in December so we'll still do that. We may end up doing something Memorial Day weekend as well, but that will be it.

    We aren't taking one this time around since this is #2 for us.

     The first time we just took a long weekend and went to Irishfest in Milwaukee.  We got a hotel room and went to the festival Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.  It was a lot of fun, relaxing, and cheap.  We had just taken our honeymoon in April right before we got pregnant.

    Las Vegas!  We love going (and both feel it is a completely innapropriate place to take children), so we booked a trip when we knew I was pregnant.

    Most likely won't take one. DH is in the military and in graduate school, not sure if we could find a free weekend if we tried. If we could, we'd probably go to the mountains and rent a cabin. I live in East Tennessee, so it's beautiful around here. 

    Didn't take one with DS either. I needed to save every single day I could for maternity leave.

    We are going to go on a cruise in January to the Eastern Caribbean.  So excited for one last vacation before I get huge and uncomfortable.

    We went to Mexico before DD was born.

    We have a trip planned to Disney World at the end of February but we keep going back and forth about going.   We thought about changing to a Disney cruise, but figured that wouldn't be the best for DD1 since they don't allow swim diapers in the pool and it may be chilly in the Bahamas.  So we aren't sure what we are going to do.

    I'm in metro Detroit, and I don't really know of any cabinEsque places for you to go.

    I never wanted to take a Babymoon. I think it was partly because we never took a honeymoon and also because it took us years and years to get pregnant so there was no real need for a last hurrah type thing. Plus, I don't really feel comfortable traveling away from home when I'm pregnant... Maybe that's the worry wart in me though.

    Our anniversary is in April so I think we will try to go away for the weekend... Not too far away from home but far enough to escape our every day life. And DS will stay with my parents.

    We went to Savannah, GA for our babymoon when I was pregnant with DD. I wish we would have gone to Charleston instead.
    We were planning on going to Amelia Island this May, but I don't know if I want to use my PTO before the baby comes.

    We are currently trying to decide where to go. I'm in Colorado and both DH and I will have a week off in late March  and it happens to coincide with our anniversary so we are definitely going somewhere.  We have talked about a cruise, but we just did one last Dec.. We are also thinking maybe Atlanta or somewhere in the Southern US.

    This is #2 for us, so no babymoon this time around.  The first time, we spent Halloween weekend in a wonderful B&B in Cape May, NJ.   It was really affordable because it wasn't beach season and was such a wonderful, quaint town that really went all out for Halloween.  We had a great time.

    I'm not sure if we'll do one or not. I want to save all my Vacation time for after the baby is born but a babymoon would be fun.

    My in laws actually have been wanting to go to hawaii. Now they are really serious about taking us this December.

    My close suggestions to Ohio would be Gatlinburg, TN, Deep Creek, MD, or Hocking Hills, OH. All locations have great potential for a romantic cozy cabin getaway!

    Probably savannah cause I go every year. Eventually I will relocate there. Fi has never been. And last time I went was in January. I'd want my close friends that own a bb to see my bump. I met them staying one time and now they are like family.

    With DS we went to the beach for a week. Not sure if we'll get to go anywhere this time because neither set of grandparents will keep him overnight! We might take him with us somewhere as a "last hurrah" as a family of 3.

    We have DH's annual family vacation in March. This year we're going to Eureka Springs. It will be MIL, BIL, SIL, neice, and the 3 of us. I guess that will be our "babymoon", lol.

    I'm jealous of any and all beach trips.

    Since you're in Ohio - have you been to Deep Creek, Maryland?  It's beautiful there any time of year, and the homes you can rent are amazing.  Very cozy and cabin-esque!  Have fun with whatever you choose!

     

    I have heard of Deep Creek and was considering it!  I'm glad to know others would suggest it. ;) Thanks!
