DH and I have agreed to start C25k Monday (provided we don't need a boat to get around).
In the beginning when I first heard about it I was all "pfft losers running." Then it grew on me until I was like "Alright lets give it a shot."
Now I'm being a scaredy pants.
I'm supposed to do mornings (5am wake ups) because I do better that way and H is doing it in the evening with our neighbor.
Re: How hard is C25k going to kick my rear?
Lol! C25k = Couch to 5k... the end goal is a 5k!
OP, it all depends on you and your fitness level. GL!
Prior to last summer, I couldn't tell you the last time I ran. I completed the C25K last summer and have been consistently running 3-5 miles since. I ran in my last 5K on 10.13.12 in 10:45 miles (a little slow for me but I swear it was mostly uphill!!). I have been trying to build to a 10k.
I didn't think it was hard at all.
As a morning runner myself, I would suggest that you drink extra water tonight and wait until after your work out to drink and eat breakfast. You should ideally eat 1.5-2hrs before your run, but when you run first thing in the morning that's not really realistic. If you eat and drink before you go, your body won't get a chance to use any of that food and it will just slosh around in your tummy (which can lead to side stiches). To replenish the used nutrients come home and have a small chocolate milk (disgusting I know, but it's a great way to replenish your sugars and proteins). Good luck and have fun. It gets addictive.
