AW: Abby's First Steps (VIP)

Abby took her first steps on her birthday tonight!!!

Here's the bad part, I was clipping her nails afterwards and cut her pinky finger ... what an horrible momma! Hopefully she'll forget about it tomorrow. I rocked her to sleep, so maybe that made up for it.

Yay! Good job Abby! It's so exciting when they take their first steps. She'll be running around like crazy before you know it. That stinks about her finger, but I'm sure she won't remember by tomorrow. It will bother you for a lot longer than it will bother her.

Yup, she didn't crawl until about 8 months or a little after ... I was amazed. But, we see an Occupational Therapist for feeding and she has shown us some "tricks" to entice them to walk. The main thing we did, like you see in the video, is put their back to the couch so they feel stable, and then encourage them to walk forward. At first, we put our hands right out to her so she could immediately grab on to something. Then we gradually started moving our hands away a little bit. Keep in mind we've been doing this for about 3 weeks. :oP

Hooray for Abby and on her birthday no less!!! I can honestly tell you I watched that video at least 6 times...hehe, it was too cute!!

I bet you were thrilled! Those first wobbly steps are so cute. Seems like once they do it it's implanted in their brain, so don't be surprised if by next week she's walking room to room. Now you get to shop for cute baby shoes!
