Phipps Santa - Vent / Question

I'm probably one of the very last to receive an invite but I just got my email to sign up to see the Phipps Santa. Not surprisingly, I'm pretty disappointed with the appointment times. There are basically no weekend or evening appointments available. That is more challenging this year to schedule as I am due December 11th. I'd obviously prefer not to take time off of work to go since I'm saving my time for maternity leave.

Has anyone ever had any luck with rescheduling their appointment closer to the holidays or perhaps just showing up to see if they can fit you in?

    Email or call them and complain. They are generally pretty good about replying and working with you.

    I emailed and complained last year and they found me an appointment on the weekend I wanted. They were pretty slim pickings for me again this year... I got my invite last week. We ended up with an appointment on a weekday this year. Although, not ideal, it will work out for us this year. Santa and I are NOT on good terms.. I hope you have luck getting in to see him.

    I don't have any experience with them personally but have heard from several others that complained as PP said and were able to get it changed.  I would tell them your situation with the baby being due also, might help.  Good luck!

    I complained last year and never got a response.  This year I got an invite somewhere in the middle of the batch and I'm not even going to bother.  Clearly, they don't need my business.  It's not worth it.

    Why waste your time energy money and sick time on Phipps Santa if its such a major PITA.  There are photographers all over town who do private Santas complete with DVDs of the photos and reproduction rights for ~$50.  I seriously think people place too much yuppie or whatever value on this specific Santa as if he won't come Christmas morning if you don't get your weekend appt booked in March.

    You're probably right. It's been a nice tradition that we've enjoyed in the past. We usually have grabbed dinner nearby and then we went to see Santa. I like the tradition and to see the progression of years with the same Santa. There are certainly other, bigger problems to complain about in the world....lol.

    You are incredibly defensive about this. Why? For some families this is a tradition. This will be our 5th year seeing him, since ds was a baby. I love looking at the pictures of him as he grows up sitting with the same Santa. Call me a yuppie if you want but I would rather continue to do this than anything else, and if it is my money time and energy I am wasting then it shouldn't matter to you.

    Ditto. We love the tradition. This will also be our 5th year and we love watching the videos and lookin at the pictures each year. It's the one Christmas tradition that my Grinch of a husband gets excited about.

    I'm sure we would have a positive experience with other Santas but there's something really special about the Phipps Santa that makes it worth the effort for us.

    We have an appointment next week.  I wish I could have gotten a better appointment, but oh well.  Do the appointments get better each year for individuals, or is it completely random each year?  This will be our first year.  Can anyone share the price range of the packages?  What's the minimum package price?  Just wondering.  Also, does anyone have a picture they can share from last year.  I have no idea what the setting looks like, but I've heard great things about this location.  Thanks!
