Good holiday movies for 3 yr olds?

Please nothing w/ scary characters or themes, or relatively un-scary ones if possible....my kids (mostly DS) get scared by everything in Disney movies (including the cat in Cinderella which is really not that scary...) and other movies so I'm looking for some feel goods.

Obviously there are the classic Frosty & Rudolph stuff on TV adn DS is obsessed w/ his "Thomas Christmas" episodes but any good one  with some of hte more contemporary characters & whatnot? We do movie night once a week w/ all of us so something MH & I can tolerate too LOL. I hope to do holiday themed movies for movie night for several weeks during Nov/Dec...

  • DD loves the Charlie Brown Christmas movie and asks to watch it year round. She also watches the Grinch, but I don't think she really gets it.

  • Agree with PP on Charlie Brown. There's also a Halloween one. (The Great Pumpkin).

I love the Santa Claus movies with Tim Allen. Mickey and the Muppets have Christmas Carol movies. Madagascar isn't really a Christmas movie, but it's funny anyway.

The Miracle is 34th Street is hard for me to stomach but I don't think there's anything scary in it. Pixar has a few holiday themed shorts.

  • We watch:

Curious George: A Very Monkey Christmas

    The Grinch

    A Charlie Brown Christmas

    Rudolph and Frosty

    Mickey's Christmas Carol

The Polar Express (DD likes it, but I find it super annoying)

  • My DS loves Elf. He doesn't get all of it, but he especially likes to watch the first part in the north pole and the end where santa flies and they are all singing. He tends to prefer movies with real people over animation in general though.
  • My girls love Strawberry Shortcake "movies" - Strawberry Shortcake Berry Merry Christmas is about 45 minutes so not quite feature-film length. There's Caillou's Holiday Movie (much as I am annoyed by Caillou, he is loved by my toddlers.)

For real movies, there's Santa Buddies and Santa Buddies 2, and The Santa Claus with Tim Allen, although that one could be a bit frightening, I think.
