NBR: Just need to rant...

My female dog is in heat (for the first time) & she keeps rolling on her back to get her "panties" off, but the male dog is taking that as an open invitation for action & so the panties come off & he's chasing her around because she thinks he's playing. We live in a two-bedroom apartment, so the running around gets annoying fast...not to mention the mess she is making...and DH is out of town all night and my back is killing me, so I just want to sit on the couch! Instead, I'm up and down yelling at the male dog, putting panties back on the other one, trying not to pull my hair out. I'm surprised I had time to write this post without having to stop and chase a dog. Holy hormones! Ok, I'm done. Thanks for reading! haha

    Are you planning on breeding them?  I've never had a dog in heat because we've always spade.  Sounds like a mess!

    Get her spayed and you'll both be tired and able to relax on the couch.  Problem solved!

    It's not clear wether you are planning to get her spayed [hopefully] 

    I know with my dog the vet would not spay her until she was 6 months old... well like 3 days before she was 6 months she went into heat and then like 2 weeks later went into heat again! So technically she was in heat twice before we were able to get her spayed - luckily she didn't actually bleed all that much either time & we didn't have a horny male around!

    GL - sounds like you have your hands full!

    We are planning on breeding them a couple times before spaying her. They are purebred French bulldogs & the puppies will be worth it in the end....but right now my nerves are just shot!

    They stay in separate crates when we are gone & at night when we go to bed. We leave them out while we are home, although I'm tempted to put him up for disciplinary action! lol

    We used to us little boy underwear and pads. Put them on backwards and pull the tail through the pee flap. It is virtually impossible to get them off.
