What is Santa bringing your little (I refuse to say toddler) baby?

for Christmas this year?

I have MANY kids to buy for this year and I want to get them done.  All but one of my nieces have birthdays in December so I don't want to have to double buy.  The girls are going to be done after tonight.  But I am clueless about what to buy for DS.  Many of the the great toddler toys we already have because of DD.  She has been totally happy to pass them on to DS so what do I get for DS?

  • Our big gift this year is going to be a train table for both kids. DS really loves Matchbox cars so I know he will really like the trains. My DD is going to LOVE it! We already have the table and trains and tracks that a bought used over a year ago, for when they were ready. I plan to personalize the table with some Projects here and there and really just focus on that. Plus some new books/puzzles and they always need PJs.

  • This should probably go in FFFC but, is it bad that I don't really want to buy her much?  I mean, I will buy her some stuff because I want her to open some presents on Christmas morning, but between her birthday and the amount of gifts I know my family will get her, we won't have any room for any more stuff in our condo!

  • i got LO this tent for her big gift.  https://www.landofnod.com/playhomes-and-tents/toys-gifts/home-sweet-play-home-canopy-pink-polka-dot/f10951

probably gonna get her some small gifts like a toy purse with accessories or a cute picnic basket by leapfrog (or vtech?).  maybe more books.

Same here. She'll get an ornament and a boat for the bathtub. She hates baths and stands up screaming through them. I'm hoping this will entertain her long enough to wash her hair.

Other than that, she still doesn't quite understand presents and is getting so much stuff from grandparents that we don't know where to put it. It doesn't make sense for us to spend the money right now.

  • I have the same problem.

We're considering a train set (to share), a few of the little wheelies cars, a mr. Potato head, the peek-a-blocks dump truck, and I want to get them both something really soft from the rh baby&child holiday catalog.

He also got an awesome little tikes theme park playmat for his birthday that he LOVES.

ETA- I totally get the desire to go minimal at his age, but I feel like his Santa pile has to at least b somewhat close to DD's and I have so many great ideas for her I don't want to cut back!

  • I'm going to rewrap some of her birthday gifts just so she has something to tear into. She will be getting more gifts from aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents, etc. So the only thing we are getting her is duplicates of her lovey which will go in her stocking. The rest will be regifted birthday presents. Shady....I know.

  • Lo's big gift is going to be the Fisher Price Servin Surprises table. She loves the little kitchen they have at my parents house and she got the Servin Surprises ice cream set for her bday and both kids love it. We're going to get her all the food sets that go with it too. She's also getting the Little People Disney Princess castle. It's really for both kids but E will get his own big present because if I say it's for him he'll get upset when she plays with it and I feel like he's at the upper end for enjoying it so I want to get him his own big thing. I'm thinking drum kit. I'm almost done shopping for the kids and MH and I aren't exchanging gifts. I just need to pick up stuff for extended families.
  • We have both Channukah and Christmas to deal with, and Channukah is Dec. 8, so DH and I were just talking about gifts.

    For Channukah LBB is getting:
Some new tunes (They Might Be Giants and Bare Naked Ladies cds)

    Clothes: Pants, pajamas, socks, t-shirts

    Probably some new bibs/straw cups

trains of some sort (something geo-traxy)

and his big gift is sitting in a box in our front hall right now:

For Christmas he's getting a little trampoline since he loves to jump and bounce!

  • Honestly, we aren't getting her much. She got lots of clothes and toys for her birthday and I know she will get more for Christmas from the grandparents. Both my mom and MIL go crazy, so I can only imagine how much we'll be hauling home from them.

We are going to get her a nice play kitchen; something wooden although I haven't decided which one yet. Other than that, we'll get a set of play food to go with the kitchen and a few small things for her stocking.

  • I have all ready gone overboard!!

He's getting a pillow racer, some wooden MD puzzles, the cook and grow kitchen, MD band in a box, some small things. That's all I've gotten so far but I feel like I'm not done!

From family he's getting a train table, the little people farm, a new rolling suitcase that he can ride on.. That's what I know of at least.

If you haven't got the trampoline yet,  we got this one for DS for his birthday and he loves it.  It also folds up pretty flat so you can store it easily.

  • I really want to get A a nice wooden kitchen with all the accessories (from Ikea).  DH wants to get her some kind of kiddie tablet. I was on board with the tablet thing, but I'm starting to think that that might be good for next year.  She's only interested in the iPad/iPhone when one of us is on it.

I've already purchased a few wooden puzzles and some books.  I think that will be about it.

  • We are completely overrun with toys in our small house since his birthday. I'm trying to stick with small things for Christmas like books, and a crawl through tunnel that folds up when he's not using it. Maybe some matchbox cars. Other than that I have no idea what to get him. He has so much already. I can't even get clothes because he has a full winter wardrobe in both 18month and 24 month sizes.

This is perfect! Exactly what I was thinking of. But I'm going to have to see if I can get it cheaper. No way is DH going to approve of a tiny trampoline for over $100.

I think it's just that expensive on the Canada site. I searched it on the US amazon site it's going or $70. Still pricy, but better.
  • DS is getting a toy laptop, since he won't leave DH's alone.  He's also getting some books, an outfit, and some peg puzzles.

  • Between the two boys, we have so many toys (and clothes).  It's been much easier to think of ideas for DS1 for Christmas since we just celebrated DS2's birthday!  We ("Santa") will probably get DS2 a couple of nice outfits from Gymboree, the VTech car carrier, Mozart cube, and some books.  The ILs are getting him a toy box, I think.  Not sure what anyone else is getting him.
