We are dressing LO up in his Halloween costume to go visit family tonight and Saturday since they are predicting rain and a mix of snow on Halloween. Other than that we will be packing for our mini vacation and watching football. What is everyone else doing?
Re: Weekend plans?
Tonight - Having a BBQ to celebrate my brothers' birthdays at my mom and dad's house
Tomorrow - Going to lunch with one of my girlfriends, then going to watch my 8 year old nephew's playoff football game (SO excited for this lol!). Watching football with DH in the evening.
Sunday - Costco in the morning and taking DS to a Halloween party for little ones in the afternoon
I'm exhausted already (thanks, 8 month wakeful...) and just thinking about this weekend is making me more tired! Should be a lot of fun, but it seems like a lot to cram in to a couple of days!
TGIF!!
Sounds like fun plans you both have
I'll be taking LO to Disneyland tomorrow, he loves Mickeys Club House show and already recognizes Mickeys voice...so I thought why not take him (we have the annual pass) and sounds like its going to be a nice weekend here in Southern Cali.
Sunday- will be carving pumpkins

I cannot WAIT until DS is old enough to really appreciate Disneyland. It's probably the place I'm most excited to take him! We don't have passes or I would have already taken him. Super jealous!
Getting ready for the hurricane. We are only in the medium zone for strength/damage, maybe borderline high if Sandy comes farther north like the models are just starting to say.
The likelihood that DH will be sent out for a couple weeks to restore power is very high. So he will be spending a lot of the weekend making sure the chickens have plenty of food, I have plenty of firewood, etc. I'll be making sure all his laundry is done, he has some homemade snacks to take with him, that sort of thing.
I'm actually excited. We are in a very tight spot financially. The storm pay is very much needed.

YES! I can't wait for that moment either. DS does love seeing all the things going on and loves the happy atmosphere and lights and all. Trust me, if I didnt have passes I wouldnt be going with DS just yet. It's too pricey to go and for baby not to know how cool the parade is and how cool the fireworks are! :0) until then I'll have to suffice with him smiling at the characters

I am jealous! My LO loves Mickey's Club House and also recognizes his voice! Have fun!
Hoping to avoid hurricane Sandy but other that just hanging around home and then going to my SIL's baby shower on Sunday which I'm not exactly looking forward to.

Just heard over they are brining in over 3000 people to be ready to restore power. I bet your husband is going to be busy for sure!

I totally understand. DH and I have talked about getting passes when DS is old enough to really appreciate it.. I'm a holiday nut so I'll want to go during Halloween and Christmas, and during the year when it's just normal Disneyland too. I just can't wait.. the parades, the decorations, the fireworks, Fantasmic, aaaaaaaahhh I'm getting so excited just thinking about it! Have fun!!!
I just wanted to say I appreciate the work your husband does! I think this is a profession that gets overlooked and under appreciated a lot. I couldn't imagine having to be pulled from my life to be gone for who knows how long. This past summer we had a horrible storm here and were without power for a week. I was never so glad to see power trucks. To you, as his wife, I bet it's hard having him gone. So to the both of you, THANK YOU!! I hope Sandy isn't to bad.
It is going to be kinda gloomy weather wise, but I'm happy we'll just get to have some family time.
Happy Anny! Take advantage of the no plans! I'd wink at ya but I'm mobile!
Aw, thanks! You have no idea what this means to me. Most people just complain how long it takes to get their power back on and don't realize all the stuff that goes into it.
It is very hard to have him gone. He is so tired from 17 hour work days with no days off that I don't get to talk to him much on the phone even. But we've had emergency after emergency this year. We've drained the E fund and still have things to take care of. The time and a half will be much appreciated. It will be worth having him gone to get everything fixed and bills caught back up.
My part of the state is now closer to high damage so he may actually be doing storm work in our own state. Or he may be sent out. Who knows? He has one of the oldest trucks in the fleet so not really sure. He will get some storm work we just don't know how much.
(Wow, I just really rambled. Sorry for that. I'm on pins and needles waiting to find out what is going to happen. And now we are in a higher risk zone so I will be probably be home alone with the baby to deal with it myself. So getting nervous.)

we are doing kids costume party sat and sunday for cousins birthdays. we also think it is going to be cold and rainy on Oct. 31 and I get home around 6pm from work..so I don't think we are going to be going trick or treating.
Excited to dress DS this weekend and do some fun activities
We went to the park today. Tomorrow we might get out to the library.
Besides enjoying the amazing Texas cold front... LO and I are going shopping with a bumpie friend and her LO on Saturday. Sunday I may catch up on all the house chores that I have been avoiding all this week!
Hope everyone has a great weekend!

No plans, yay!
We have had such busy weekends for the past month that it is so nice to just stay at home. The weather is crap so that means we will be inside most of the weekend.
I hope everyone in hurricane Sandy's way stays safe.
