Trunk or Treat?

So this might be a silly question, but I honestly have no idea. What exactly is a Trunk or Treat? There is a church a couple blocks away that is hosting one tomorrow evening, and I want to take DS.

    Basically the kids walk around the parking lot and stop at cars where people are giving out candy from their (sometimes decorated) trunks.

     This.  Our church is also having one.  I know at ours they are having lots of games and activities for different age groups also.

    The trunk or treat thing has always creeped me out. Maybe because I've seen some pretty bad lookin' trunks in my day. If there was one held at my church I would go. Those are usually held earlier in the day too (great for us since DS has a 6:30pm bed time).

    Yep, think of it as tailgating with Halloween candy.  I know of a few churches that do this, along with other games.

    I've never heard of this.  Cool idea though.
