Did 2nd baby come early?

One of my coworkers today said 2nd babies tend to come earlier. Any truth to this?

Yes, but DD1 was 8 days late and I was induced (I was in early labor though) with DD2 on my due date due to complications.

For me it was. My 1st was born at 37w0d. My 2nd 35w2d. Both came on their own with regular contractions a week or so before.

This is why we aren't having a 3rd, because of the fear of another preemie coming even earlier.

DS2 did come earlier than my first, at 39 weeks. With DS1 i was overdue 2 days. They also tend to say that labor itself is quicker, which was not the case for me! My labor was so much worse the second time and 3 hours longer.

Not for me. Both were induced. #1 I was 40w 3 days and with #2 I was 40w 6 days.

This! Although my first was 37w6d on her own after my water broke. My 2nd was 31w6d, but my water broke at 30w2d. We're very scared about a 3rd, but really leaning towards having one.

It does not always happen. I know many of people that their 2nd was late. It all depends on the mother.

My first was born 40w3d and my second was born 38w6d. Both came on their own. My labor with #2 was also a lot quicker.

Thankfully, not for me.

DD came at 35w4d (pPROM) and DS came at 39w4d (induction due to various issues). I was thankful to not have a second preemie.

My first was at 40w1d, my second at 39w3d and my third at 40w6d (at least that's what I think she was, officially due to an early scan she was born at 39w6d).

All came on their own, but they did come very quickly after the fist ;o).
