So I got this awesome RN at the Walgreens TakeCareClinic tonight. She was a talkative older lady
. She asks which arm I woild like it in and i say my left. she says, are you right handed. i said yes, she says then you want it that one because you ahve to move it around to get into your blood stream. I say, but I sllep on my right sise so I don't want to deal with a sore arm. So she agrees to the left arm.
She then has me slide to the left edge of the table and says you need to be on the edge so your arm can hang down and the muscle is relaxed so it won't hurt. She then proceeds to make sure I'm relaxing my arm and gives me the shot. I didn't even feel it. It's several hours later and I don't have the usual stiffness of a tetnus shot.
So remember ladies, with any kind of shot, let the arm hang and relax the muscle. That goes for babies and kids too
Re: advice for those getting the TDap shot or any kind of shot
My OB doesn't give shots. I got my flu shot at my pharmacy and my TDaP at the hospital after DD was born...
