I was looking online for a pediatric dentist for DD yesterday. Each website I saw recommended wiping LOs gums off with a soft washcloth after eating. I had never heard this, and just thought you were supposed to start wiping/brusing when the first tooth popped out. Anyone wiping the gums? Does your LO tolerate ok?
Re: Wiping gums?
That being said, we haven't really been consistently doing it. I think we'll probably start in the next couple of days.
Not after eating (he still eats like every 2 hours), but we sometimes wipe his gums down in the tub. Not consistently though. Mostly he just sucks on the washcloth- I swear it's his favourite thing to suck on next to the boob.
I think he's going to get one of those baby's first toothbrush things in his Christmas stocking, provided he doesn't get any teeth before then that is!
LOL, I think we'll give it a shot tonight. DD already puts everything in her mouth anyway, so I guess she won't mind a wet washcloth : )
Our doctor recommended it as well. He likes chewing on wash cloths, so once and awhile.
