So DD2 fusses the ENTIRE bottle. So much that I do not let anyone (including DH) feed her. If someone else feeds her she ends up with gas. I have pretty much gotten it down to a science so she doesn't get gas, but she is so fussy.
She does have reflux, but Zantac has helped that tremendously and we haven't had problems with that since it kicked in. We do put cereal in her bottle as well (per the pedi recommendation). She is between nipple sizes and I know that is part of the problem. One flows too slow and the other too fast. I have even played around with lessening the amount of cereal to make the slower nipple flow faster.
Anyways, we are using Dr. Brown's bottles (wide) and tonight my mom fed her because she was here and DD1 was cranky and I was tending to her, etc. She mentioned maybe I should just try a different bottle. DUH! Why didn't I think of that?? She doesn't care for the skinner Dr. Browns bottles so it would have to be a wider nipple bottle. I am going to venture out tomorrow and purchase something to try-just wanted to see if you all had any suggestions!!!
Thanks!
Re: Bottle suggestions
Chase Matthew born at 35 weeks on July 31st
The y cut and faster flow are both too fast for her.
I was thinking the Sinilac bottles too
Thanks!!
DS has had an issue with gas since about 2 or 3 weeks. We first tried Playtex Ventaire, didn't seem to help then tried Dr. Browns which helped some but not enough. He has a horrible weekend with gas that caused him to be up at night so we not only switched bottles to Playtex Drop Ins but switched to a soy based formula. He hasn't had much gas at all which I think is due mostly to the soy based formula.... not sure how much the bottles are playing a part in it but I've heard great things about the drop ins before buying them. I hesitated because they need refills which I thought could be costly... but then his daycare teacher told me to wash & re-use.... DUH
ETA - the nipple that comes with the bottles probably too slow of a nipple for him or he's gotten so use to the others but it takes FOREVER for him to finish a bottle unless he's absolutely starving.
