Mullets and Rat tails

I know a lot of our kids have this. Addy sports her mullet daily.

I won't cut it. She'll end up with a mullet til she's a year. Then we MIGHT trim it so it's all even.

How bout you? Are you going to cut the mullet or rat tail?

Right now Merrick has a rat tail. Stella is growing a nice baby femullet.

Its not intentional. He needs a haircut. I usually cut off the rat tail in a pinch. Curly rat tails are nice when the rest of the hair is straight tho. LOL

Definitely a mullet. The rest of it fell out, which makes me so sadddd...look how adorable he was with all that hair!

My baby is basically bald, so no mullet or rat tail here. I thought they looked dumb when I was a kid in the 90's, while they were cool. *shudder*

No mullet or rat tail (yet) but he's starting to get some serious over-the-ear side burns. And he's going kindof bald on top. We call him Martin Van Buren.

This is hilarious. And I am kind of impressed at the reference, I feel like Van Buren isn't one of the most famous presidents.

Ellie gets a rat tail, but if I brush it just right it hides. I think we can get away with that for a little longer!

My baby was born needing a hair cut, but I'm still gonna wait the traditional year! Maybe... depends on his hair texture. First LO had curly, curly hair. So it wasn't a big deal. Unfortunately his hair went STICK straight after his first cut. I was so sad!! This LO's hair gets curly with water but then goes straight. So if he looks funny he'll have to get that hair cut early.

I never waited for the year until we did haircuts. Lexie had hers cut FIVE times by then!

Carson's is over his ears now, and he hasn't lost any, but I won't do it yet ... Probably around 6 months or so..

PS- My IRL friends and I laughed when there was a kid in the preschool class with a really long rat tail two years ago. Just weird.

The Van Buren thing made me giggle, though. That's hilarious.

I had been laying a knit blankie under Evie in her crib (tucked in, of course) so she'd be a little warmer. Little did I know her habit of moving her head side to side just for funsies happened in the crib, too. I maintained that the scratchiness contributed to her old man bald spot on the back of her head.

I'll probably worship her mullet for way longer than I ought to; I can't wait until she has hair!
