My week old son always seems fussy, even after he eats. He only seems to calm down if you lay him on your lap on his tummy, and he'll drift off to sleep. We then put him in his crib on his back and he continues sleeping. Is this wrong since babies aren't supposed to be on their tummies/sides?

Re: safe to soothe on side/stomach?
We lay our LO to sleep on her tummy for naps. We just check on her every so often. For nighttime sleep she is on her back.
Sometimes I think laying on their tummies can make them feel better if they have a tummy ache. Maybe try getting an extra burp out or using gas drops?
You can safely incline the crib by adding a small pillow under one side if the mattress.
