I got a cheap target one and when DD was 6 months old she would pull it off/up to see out exposing me to everyone. We obviously didn't use a cover at home so she didn't want to use one in public!
I got the bebe au lait and it was big enough that should couldn't pull it off or I could sit on the corner.
Highly recommend it!

I've nursed two kids for over a year and never used a cover.I have no problem with them, if it makes you more comfortable then they are great, but they aren't a must have at all.
Mine goes with us everywhere. Not see through at all. It doubles as a light cover too if we go somewhere air conditioned. Also has towel fabric sewn in to the corners which is very handy. It has been a great investment.
