Anyone had an ovarian cyst?

I use to get them all the time in high school and once I went on BC they were totally gone. We are TTC so obviously I'm off BC. For the past two days I've had mild cramping and shooting pains in my lower abdomen. When I pee the shooting pains are really strong. I'm going to 4 to see my doctor, but my MIL (who works for an OBGYN) thinks it might just be ovulating pains. AF was 15 days late last cycle so I'm all kinds of screwed up on where I should be. So WDYT cyst, ovulating, something else?? I know we're all doctors on TB haha =)

    When I first went off BC My ovaries were on fire for months re-adjusting to functioning again. Im doing medicated cycles now for better ovulation and it has caused a few cysts. Theyre normal (for the most part) but it doesnt hurt to be sure its not huge or an issue that needs to be addressed. If needed, they may put you on BC to help the cyst heal. GL!!

    ETA~ It could be a cyst or just ovulating. :)

    I used to get them all the time, and I even had surgery for one at one point. Now I definitely know what a cyst feels like and what it doesn't. If you are TTC it might be helpful to chart your cycle so you can start to tell what your normal ovulatory pain feels like. That's how know so well when my cysts form and what's normal and what's not. I usually get one that I can feel right when I ovulate, and I swear I can feel the moment of ovulation because the pain instantly goes away. Anyways, I used Taking Charge of Your Fertility, and that's helped me a lot. Good luck and feel better!

    The doctor told me she thinks its just ovulation pains and I'm just noticing them more this month because we are TTC. She is sending me for an u/s Tuesday if I'm not feeling better just to rule out a cyst. Thanks for the advice ladies!
