So I'm eating cereal this morning, on my day off, enjoying my organic peanut butter balls...and my SO's aunt walks in the kitchen to wait for his grandma who lives with us. She always asks how I'm doing when she sees me...she always has some smart @ss thing to say, but nothing ever too bad. This morning made me want to scream at her.
She asked how much weight I had gained -__- not my favorite subject...I gained a lot of weight in the beginning of my pregnancy so now I can't really lose that weight and I need to still gain weight for my little guy. I tried to dodge the question, and just said "Oh probably too much" and kinda giggled. But then she got more rude and was like "What you dont go to the doctor? I can tell its a lot, you can see it in your face" AWESOME. Thanks! Why ask me any questions then if you can tell? Then she told me that when she had babies you were only supposed to gain like 20 to 30 lbs...and I said "Well you are only supposed to gain that much but I can't lose the weight I've already gained."
Then she proceeded to laugh at me and say I'm going to have a horrible time losing it once the baby arrives and it's a good thing I'm with such a nice guy like her nephew who will love me either way. The baby shower with my SO's side of the family is this Sunday, and I hope all of his family isn't like this. I have only met a handful of the people that are going to be there...which I already feel weird about, but it was all MIL's planning so I'm just going to show up and smile!
Venting over. I hope I'm gone with SO to Hobby Lobby by the time she gets back to drop his grandma off.
Re: I'm so annoyed with my SO's aunt!
Exactly! My blood pressure is fine, and yes I have been told I gained too much by my doc, but only because she was like "ohh girl remember you gotta lose this weight" which I'm aware of! And I'm mostly solid fat, and not the flabby kind, which will burn quicker...according to my brother who is studying to be a nutritionist...and whether thats true or not, it made me feel better! hahah

It infuriates me how people think that it's ok to talk about weight when a lady is pregnant. You'd never ask someone non-pregnant "hey you look fatter, how much weight have you gained?" I mean maybe that sack of sh?t aunt would, who knows.
With my first, I gained weight like MAD and when my mom brought it up I told her to shut her mouth. She was mad but tough noogies, she deserved it.
