Trying to Get Pregnant

Just Not For Everybody :

me my partner have been trying to get pregnant for over a year now, I don't know much about pregnancy terms but I do know I have something called a cyst in my uterus. Could that be making me less fertile? Also my period is very irregular . Sometimes being a week early to a week late . My last period was almost two weeks late which made him I think it was our time only to be discouraged once again. I have reason to believe I cannot have babies because even with an ex we tried for three years and nothing . I want to be a mommy so bad but maybe it's just not in my cards.

Re: Just Not For Everybody :

  • Have you consulted a Reproductive Specialist? I'm sorry you are having such a hard time.

  • Is the cyst in on your ovary or actually in your uterus? I would think if it was in your uterus you should get it removed... and the doctor who found the cyst.. they should be able to tell you if it is affecting your fertility. My advice: go to the Dr, if you have been trying for a year you should go to a RE

  • Fertility can be pretty complex. Have you gone to a dr about any of this? I would start charting and make an apt with your OB and take it from there. Cysts do not mean infertility. Good luck.

Prim, you need to work on your mud-spotting skills.

It might be MUD, but it seems like this poster might be having a hard time. Meh, in the off chance she's legit I figured I'd play nice.

It is not nice to refer someone to an RE with absolutely no knowledge of her history. "trying for three years with an ex" is not a history.

Also, thank for defining the reason this board has gone to helll.

I didn't recommend that she go to one. I just asked the question if she had seen one. There is a difference.

I was hoping it might encourage more history disclosure from the OP.

Why have you not seen a doctor yet? Why put yourself through hell and what ifs and wasted time/effort if it truly isn't in the cards or if there is a simple solution to the problem?

If jumping all over simple questions in a post is awesome then I must be missing out.

Pretty sure it's better to know if there is a problem and start dealing with it than to live in fear that something might be wrong, especially if there's nothing wrong.

  • Sorry about what you are dealing with.

As far as your questions about your cysts: you need to discuss these things with your doctor.

  • I would not consider your period as irregular.  Saying that you are "early" or "late" tells me that you don't know when you are ovulating and therefore may not be timing sex well.  Read the newbie link and see a doctor for the cyst.

Agree with this. Early or late according to what? A period tracker app? 28 days?

Try charting to see when/if you ovulate and visit your doctor. If you're worried enough to post on the internet about it, you would probably feel better having answers from a doctor you trust about your concerns.

     Good luck.

early/late referring to one cycle being 28 days then 30 days then 29 then 34 like it's never the same. And thanx I guess ..

Thats not early or late. Many people do not ovulate on the same day every cycle, those are very normal cycle lengths.

How long your cycle is depends on when you ovulate.  It has nothing to do with being early or late.  If you chart your cycles and learn about your body this will make sense.
