follicle size/number??

I am on my first IUI cycle and took 100mg Clomid days 3-7. I was a little worried taking 100mg to start since I ovulate on my own but anyway... 

Today I went in for cycle day 12 monitoring and I have 7 follicles measuring 10mm-12mm. I know I am not ready to trigger (I ovulate way later in cycles) but 7 seems like a lot. The tech said it was still early and not all of them will continue to grow, but has anyone else had that many and it turned out ok? I don't want to have to cancel! 

Also, if they are 10-12mm today, when will they be ready? I go back in Saturday, but can they grow that fast?

    Yes I have have that many follicles before and only 2 or 3 grew to be mature. My RE said that they grom 1-2mm a day. Good luck!

    I agree with Megwill126.  My first cycle I had an us on Wednesday and didn't had many follicles right around 10 mm.  When I went in on Saturday one was the clear leader at 16 mm and there was another around 11/12 mm, but the others hadn't grown.  I think I triggered the next night to give the 16 mm some additional time to mature.

    TTC #1** Went off BCP July 2011

    July 2012 - Tests with RE confirmed PCOS and annovulation

    2 rounds of clomid, 5 IUI's using clomid + injectibles. 

    Surprise BFP while on break cycle due to cysts.  It's a girl! Baby "E" born on Thanksgiving Day 11/28/13

    A follie can grow 1-3mm a day (I have fast growers).  Most REs won't trigger until one follie is at least at 17mm so your 12's if they grow 2mm a day might be close but don't get down on yourself if they give them another day or two to mature.  Mature follies are between 18-24mm.

    I have slow growers at about 1mm per day. There's no telling how many follies you'll have in the end. This cycle I started with 9 follies, all between 13-16mm on CD 12. I ended up with 4-5 mature follies (my RE measures differently than most. He adds length and width. So a 13x13 =26. He likes to trigger between 42-46mm). My mature follies were 42, 43, 44, and 44. There was another one right behind one of the mature follies so they couldn't get a size but it was likely mature as well. Most REs initially go with 2-3 follies. Mine will let me go up to 5 but absolutely no more than that.
