NEED HELP FOR A FRIEND

You can tell by my siggy I'm not asking for me..... However, she is my best friend and I'm truly worried for her. Has any one here had a breach baby... her doctor is wanting to turn the baby. This to me just sounds hard and stressful for the baby. Any advice? TIA

Re: NEED HELP FOR A FRIEND

  • Turning the baby isn't as bad as you think. It's actually pretty safe. It's done while mom and baby are being monitored to be sure it doesn't become dangerous. It's a heck of a lot less stressful and dangerous than the csection she'll probably be forced to have if her breech baby doesn't turn vertex.

If you are talking about a version they are safe. It just sucks because they can be painful and have relatively low success rates 50/50. My baby was breech and I really wanted to try a version but my doctor told me I only had a 20 percent chance of success because I was a FTM and stomach isn't stretched out . We ended up with a csection ! If your friend is a STM that significantly increases her odds . Either way this is safe and nothing to worry about .
