Can we talk about baby shoes?

Does anyone else have a kid that shoes fall off of their feet all the time? If so, what has worked for your LO?

I'm tired of losing shoes all the time.

Re: Can we talk about baby shoes?

  • What have you tried? Have you had his foot sized?

We don't have that problem, so not much advice. The only ones that fall off are some soft-ish soled shoes that for some reason seem big. I usually put him in tennies that have velcro straps. He hasn't figured out how to take them off yet, either.

  • I had him sized at nordys, but his shoes were DS1's old shoes. He has one pair of converse high tops that stay on but are hard to put on to begin with and another pair of new balance Velcro gym shoes. They are the ones that fall off 1000 times. When he's walking, in the stroller or being carried.

Are you sure they're falling off?nbsp; For a while I thought Joey's shoes were falling off and then I caught the little bugger waiting until I looked away and then dragging his heels against whatever the closest surface was to knock them off.We use Robeez in the house since they're the only thing he can't take off.nbsp; He has velcro Stride Rites that he wears outside and he's never tried to get them off. He always did with his soft soled shoes but he seems happy with the big boy sneakers.

Yeah, They fall off when he is walking or playing and then all of the sudden one gets left behind. The converse high tops just come unlaced all the time but don't actually fall off. I'm thinking he has a small and narrow foot. His brother had a big and wide foot. I'm thinking I need to buy him his own shoes instead of hand me downs.

  • This has never happened to us. I'd guess they're too big on him. Both of my girls have narrow feet and I've made do with Stride Rite outlet shoes with the velco pulld nice and tight.
  • Target brand velco tennis shoes. Maybe his shoes are a tad too big?

  • You mentioned your older son's feet are big and wide...maybe he has stretched out the hand me down shoes beyond their original size?  I'm pretty sure I remember this happening when my sister and I had growing feet.  Shoes of mine (ones that were canvas and had some "give") that said one size wouldn't fit her until she was a measuring a half size ahead because my growing feet had stretched them a little bit.

I was going to suggest try and buy him new shoes. I hope that works.
