I had DS's parent teacher conference yesterday. his school OT is the only person at school who has been with him since last September, his teacher and SLP are new to the school this year. The OT told me that seeing James in the hallway, interacting with other teachers and students is enough to bring her to tears because she is just so proud of how far he has come. The other teacher had a hard time believing it when we told them what James was like this time last year.
I heard some very nice things about my NT kid yesterday, too. It was a great day to be a mom to two speedykids.
Oh my goodness Assembly, your picture is too cute!
A small brag. We think Lily knows how to sign "More" and "All Done." Lily has always been very communicative, even if she can't speak or sign. She's always been able to tell us what she wants (or doesn't want), but these are the first actual signs she's learned. Of course, because she's so delayed in fine motor skills, her signs are a bit sloppy, and she still needs prompting, but it's a start.
I have one, we went out to dinner a few nights ago, and ds actually used the crayons and colored on the kids menu. His fine motor skills need a lot of work, so even though he's been doing crafts in preschool and daycare, he's never taken to using crayons. He just scribbled, but it's nice to see.

So I mentioned on Monday about DD waving and saying "hi." Now she will also sing if you hold a sustained "ahhhh" and she's mostly on key (I'm a singer). She will also raise her hands above her head and say "AAAAAY" when you prompt her with "hooray"
DS has a best friend at school. They're both kind of obsessive about each other, but I'm hoping that's normal for 4 year olds. It's a huge triumph, as at this time last year I was filling out our Child Find paperwork and worrying about the fact that DS only acted like a train around other kids.
DD1 has been getting really positive feedback sent home in notes from her SLP. She's working on appropriate conversational skills with peers and is making good progress!
She's been so sweet with our dogs lately. One morning while I was in the shower, she spent the whole time petting them both and just kind of cooing over them and telling them what good dogs they are. (I kept peeking out of the shower to check on them.) It gave me warm fuzzies.
She can also zip her coat zippers now, most of the time. Sometimes it's still a struggle, but it's always nice to see her pick up another skill!
My daughter has Autism and she is 3 1/2. This week we caught her playing appropriately with a toy car when she thought we weren't there! I was mad but so proud at the same time! LoL

I had a migraine today and DS was so concerned about me. Asking if I was okay and actually sitting still and quiet with me on the couch.
I decided to suck it up and take him to OT instead of making DH take the afternoon off. Well about half way through I ended up having to excuse myself. I made a Dr appointment and the time they had avail was 15 min after OT ended. I had to take DS with me .
He sat and played so nicely for the first part and then chatted and asked questions of the nurse while I got a shot in the bum. It was an unexpected detour in our schedule after all the exciting activity in OT and he was perfectly behaved.
i have to buy X 3t clothes! i was just under the assumption that since he's always been on the smaller side he would fit into his fall and winter clothes from last year. was i wrong! it's crazy that he is now the size of a "typical" 3 year old...all hail the mighty g-tube.

Yay, so happy to see the brags. We've had a rough week and it is heartening to read about positive things.
Congrats to everyone!
