Calorie boosting powder?

I never had to use it for my LO's issues, but I have a friend who is in need of some. Her 8 month old has a lot of allergies, and he only weighs 14 pounds. She just started solids with him a few weeks ago and she has had very mixed success. Anyone know the name of it?

  • Our Dr told us to use Carnation breakfast packets.

  • Is he on formula? He should probably be supplemented with a safe formula. She could see a dietician for him also.

  • Is he on formula or BF?  My DS has milk and soy protein allergies and is on Elecare (similar to Neocate if you've heard of that).  Your friend's son sounds like my son.  He weighs 15 lbs at 9 months and has had feeding issues because of food allergies/intolerances.

Does he see a GI dr?  Maybe you're thinking of Duocal?  That's a calorie boosting powder and it is safe for those with allergies.
