What was your first week like after having it put in? My doctor's policy was to put it in while on your period and I'm super afraid to use a tampon and I'm not used to using pads so I can't tell if my period is heavy or normal. Plus when I used the pill I barely got a period to begin with. Needless to say its been awhile so I'm trying to compare stories to see what's normal ish.

    I bled for about 2 weeks, then spotted for another month and a half. Now, I love my Mirena. I didn't use a tampon until my 2nd or 3rd period.

    I spotted for a few days after it was put in and haven't bled since. I had it put in back a the begining of August.

    I don't usually get my period (ever since being off the pill to have DS). I have PCOS which has caused me problems with my cycle, but I love being on Mirena.

    It's wierd the your doctor wanted to put it in on your period, mine just wanted to make sure I wasn't pregnant when she put it in and then checked to make sure it was still in the right place a month after inserting it.
