DD dropped her nap shortly after turning 3. You would think she goes to bed earlier and she doesn't most nights! We try to put her to bed at 8:30 but she usually doesn't actually fall asleep till 9 or 9:30! She makes up excuses like 'I gotta go potty', throws fits for another book, etc. She wakes up at 8a usually so that is only 10.5 to 11 hours of sleep. I always offer a nap but she never does anymore. She seems way more cranky and tired though. Is she getting enough sleep?

Re: How much sleep does your 3.5 yr old get?
At 3.5 years, DD1 was sleeping 10 hours at night with a 1 1/2-2 hour nap. When she dropped her nap (at 5 years), she started sleeping 11 hours at night.
I'd probably try to put her to bed a little earlier. Sometimes if you miss that first sleep window, they'll be up for another hour.

He goes to bed at 7:30 and usually falls asleep right away. On weekedays we have to wake him up at 6:30. On weekend we let him sleep in, and he usually sleeps until 7/7:30. He won't nap at daycare anymore, and he usually takes an 1:30 nap at home on the weekends.

DD has always been on the low end for sleep...she sleeps way less than the charts have suggested for her age, and always has.
She sleeps 10 hours, occasionally 11, at night and almost never naps any more unless she accidentally falls asleep in the car or something. She did not sleep any longer at night when she started skipping naps, unfortunately. It is a miracle if we make it past 6am without her being up (she goes to bed at 8). Yawn.
