So I am pretty sure im getting my wisdom teeth in... is it safe to remove them while pregnant? I know I wouldnt be able to take much for the pain which really sucks and I know they have to do xrays and stuff so I dont know how that would work. Has anyone else had them removed while pregnant?

Re: Wisdom Teeth
Just wait til baby's born. That's what I'm having to do!!
Try the numbing stuff people put on their teeth for pain, if pregnant people can that is (baby brain moment here - can't for the life of me think of what it is called).
I had mine taken out years ago and had to be put under and the pain after was excrutiating. Unless you have an infection or the pain is so unbareable I would suggest waiting until after if you can.

DH had his removed without anesthesia, and it wasn't bad at all. I'm sure it depends on the situation, but it is doable in certain situations. I don't have wisdom teeth so I can speak from experience.
I have to get mine out as well! I waiting untill after the baby is born and untill i stop breastfeeding just in case. Xrays arnt safe while pregnant and i know i will want to be put under because im a huge baby when it comes to pain. All i want to do is fall alseep and wake up with no wisdom teeth bothering me. hehe
YES! LOL! Thank you.
When I got mine out (a number of years ago) they just numbed the area and I was completely fine - no need to go under unless you have dental anxiety, imo.
I had a really bad reaction after taking the Rx painkiller. (Extreme drop in blood pressure, nausia, blackout, almost fainted.) I'm not positive that the prescription was the cause, but I didn't want to take it again to find out. I ended up just taking ibuprofen for the pain. It wasn't comfortable, but it wasn't unbearable or anything. I imagine Tylenol would provide a little less pain relief, but I still think it'd be doable.
I'd probably just have them extracted and be done with it. That being said, if you don't have a compelling reason to have them out and you're already dealing with other pregnancy-related discomforts, it seems totally reasonable to wait if that's what you prefer.
