Registering on Amazon?

Has anybody registered on amazon and had any issues with people actually just buying online?

We registered on amazon for our wedding and we got nothing from there, so I am a little worried about wanting to register on amazon. But the brands of things we want are not at Target or Babys R us

Uppababy, babyletto, cloth diapers etc.

Any ideas or ways you got people motivated to just purchase online?

Re: Registering on Amazon?

  • For us, we are not in the same date as a lot of family and old friends. If they did not come to our shower, they used amazon but the distance may have influenced that. Buy buy baby has uppa but if there isn't one near you, that would be the same thing as using amazon. Our amazon and BRU registry were pretty similar except CDs and some random items. I just had to keep them both updated. We got our vista at a good deal and bought it on our own.

  • Our amazon registry worked brilliantly!  Half of our gifts were bought from this registry, the other half from BRU (and some of those were purchased online as well)

I can't say enough good things about the amazon registry.  So easy to return, invoices are available online so you don't have to save receipts, a Thank You list is provided to keep track of who purchased what items which is so handy for thank you notes. And their universal registry allows you to add anything from other sites as well.

BRU is a PITA.  If I had to do over again I would have put only 25% of our items on BRU, rather than 50%.

    This!

  • I was worried about this, too, but we received about 75 of our amazon registry and 90 of our BRU registry at our shower this past Sunday. I would have done all amazon but I know ppl want the option to shop in person.

  • I'm a last minute shopper, so I've never purchased online for a shower. If the mother-to-be isn't registered at Target, I buy diapers, wipes, baby toiletries, clothes or gift cards. If no one used your online registry for your wedding, then they probably won't use it for your shower either.

  • I think it depends on your "audience" so to speak. I know the older people in my family prefer shopping at an actual store. A lot of our coworkers and friends did Amazon. We loved our Amazon registry.

    This!

Y'all are making me glad the majority of our registry is on Amazon.  It has 64 items, BRU has like 15.  I have prime, so shopping on Amazon is super easy for me. ;)

  • I loved our Amazon registry, but sadly NO ONE bought from it. I did have 50/50 Amazon & BBB, but after realizing no one was buying from Amazon I added more to BBB. In the end it worked out though & BBB was awesome about matching Amazon's prices on items we still needed, plus giving us the 10% off additionally.

My advice, make a registry at Amazon, BBB & BRU. I made a BRU registry, but only added one item and didn't have it included in shower info. The funny thing is though, they mailed me a completion coupon for 15% with no exclusions (Amazon & BBB is only 10%), plus they were having a online special on their pumps. So I added it to my registry, then used the 15% to get it at $30 cheaper than anywhere else and it shipped free. :)

  • I wish we had BBB here!
