Thank you for sharing this. Like most of us, I worry. Symptoms come and go today it seems like I have none at all. I know we're all so antsy to cross that 12 week mark. Stay positive.
I've been looking for something like this to calm my nerves, so thank you! I hit 8 weeks yesterday and knew it was a milestone, but since I still haven't seen a Dr I'm still pretty anxious.
I had a m/c in August and it made me scared that I am "miscarriage prone" which I know is silly but I couldn't help feeling that way. I didn't realize the odds go down so much as each week passes especially once you see the baby on the ultrasound. That's very encouraging! Thanks for posting this!
This is very reassuring. Last night I almost had a panic attack I was so worried about miscarrying. Even though I haven't had any symptoms that would lead me to believe that I will. We've just been trying so long that I was expecting something bad to happen.
Thanks for sharing that! I've been a little worried since we won't go in for our first ultrasound until I'm 10 weeks, and I haven't had too man symptoms yet, but I know its still early.
Thank you for much for that little sigh of relief. My first u/s isn't until 8 weeks 4 days. I keep telling myself, well I've had painful cramping or bleeding, I guess the baby is still growing in there haha
something about that just looks fishy and unsubstantiated to me. IDK... ::shrugs::
The website may not be the most professional website ever, but I did check their citations and this isn't the only place I have seen these statistics.
I agree with ravenclaw. Statistics are a funny thing. Depends on how you spin it. And those percentages do not seem right when we know up to 25% of pregnancies end in m/c.

We also know that as a pregnancy progresses, the rates of miscarriage decrease. It's a fact. If the stats don't work for you, fine, but you don't need to go raining on someone else's parade when they found some comfort in something. Seems awfully selfish to me.

Not the most professional website, but the numbers are in line with what I've seen elsewhere. 25 percent of all confirmed pregnancies will not result in a baby at home, and the chances go down with each passing week...but they never go away completely. At least the chart got that right.
I just wish it had called the late losses stillbirth rather than miscarriage.

I have to agree with Uneek & Ravenclaw on this one. Those stats do not look right.
And I don't want to be debbie downer or anything... but there is always going to be someone who is one of those statistics - and when you happen to be that someone, seeing those statistics doesn't make it hurt any less. I totally understand the fear of m/c, believe me - I really, really do. And as someone who has experienced a m/c already - the fear is even more real this time around. But those stats do not comfort me at all - I don't think any numbers would. I made it past 8 weeks the last time, so according to that article I should have been in the "safer zone". The only thing that helps me is taking it one day at a time and appreciating the fact that today I am pregnant.

Just because we don't all have a TTCAL or a PGAL siggy, doesn't mean we haven't had a previous miscarriage. Take it or leave it. If you don't like the stats, you don't have to believe them, but don't take away the solace that other people find in them. That's cruel. I posted it because someone else had mentioned their concerns in a previous post.

Ok, I was merely voicing my opinion...I didn't mean to come off as attacking your article and I certainly didn't mean to be cruel. And I'm very sorry for your loss. It's an unfortunate reality that m/c and pg loss is so common.
I wasn't going to say it, but now I will - the title of this thread made me cringe a bit. There have already been a number of goodbye posts on this board and I can't imagine someone coming here to post one and then seeing the title of this post.

Wow, didn't expect such hostility. I made the account after I saw the acticvity through the stat program, because I wanted to help. If that's how you treat each other here, you're right; I will definitely stay away.

Ah, statistics. I guess I was just one of those unfortunate people who got to hear and see my babies heart beating away at 171 bpm at 8 weeks 3 days and then go on to have a missed miscarriage at 12 weeks. I hate statistics because they mean nothing to me...

Yea, I'm pretty sure vendors aren't allowed on TB. I also think your explanation makes your article seem even less legit.
If you want to help your site grow, pay someone to do research and focus groups for you. That's not what this forum is for.

I have to agree that the title of this post rubbed me the wrong way, and although these statistics may make some of the posters here feel better, I can't imagine how it would make a June mama feel who is coming here to post that she is losing her baby.
