I am having a play date this weekend and want the kids (all 13-17 months) to paint pumpkins. Has anyone tried this with LO? I bought small pumpkins and am heading to the craft store for paints and supplies.
Any tips? Tricks to make this go smoothly? I'm going to get regular and finger paint, maybe some stickers and some smocks. Any other ideas are appreciated!
Re: Has anyone tried painting?
I haven't done it yet, but we are decorating pumpkins at a playdate later this week. Found a few links with fun ideas:

I'm a little late to the party but . . . .
We do lots of artsy type things. DS loves to scribble and paint - In the warmer months we did pudding paint (chocolate pudding and paper) and cool whip paint (cool whip and food coloring) outside and he LOVED it!
Now that it's getting cooler I made homemade fingerpaint and put him in a dry bathtub (naked) with it. He had a blast painting the walls and himself - when he was done I took some photos of his artwork and ran a warm bath and it came right off - although I will say the food coloring did stain his skin a little, his legs were very colorful for about 24 hours lol.
Can you post your finger paint recipe?
