Do any of you ladies follow any blogs that give you tidbits on holiday shopping savings? I am trying to get as much as I can for as little as I can this season. I used to do Black Friday, but there is no way in hell I'm going for that ever again.

Re: Blogs for holiday shopping savings?
I don't know of any blogs but here is my tips:
Stay organized!
I make a Christmas gift table like this every year. Before I buy anything I right down who I have to shop for, my overall total budget, and then I break it down. Every gift has an allotted budget and I try to stick to the budget. I find that although there are great deals on Black Friday and I usually partake in them, most of the time I buy a lot of impulse items and spend more than I saved.
I do a lot of online shopping. For neighbors and friends I like to bake goodies instead of exchanging gifts.
I used to have to buy for 35 people, this is just impossible and we have opted for drawing names to cut down on everyone's costs. I know only have to shop for 15!
This is Oliver's page for this year...
Awesome, thank you! I have a budget fund where I may not even have to spend savings, but I will use a table like yours to keep it better organized. What times do you find shopping cheaper? Now or closer to the holidays?

OCT 2011 Moms BlogI usually start shopping in August. I try to be done Christmas shopping by the beginning of December. I guess I can't really say what is cheaper. My philosophy is stay out of the stores as much as possible. The more I'm there the more money I spend, that's why I love shopping online!
I do save all my receipts for in-store purchases so I can return things if they run them cheaper later in the season. I attach a manilla folder to my christmas table to save my gift receipts and my copies.
BTW have you looked to see if they posted any black Friday adds on-line yet.
This might be common sense to everyone else, but one of my girlfriends told me that she watches the toy prices every year and has noticed they go up the closer they get to Christmas.
One big toy she bought her son the first week of November last year was $30 higher on "sale" on Black Friday.
So, like Penny, I'd say shop as early as possible, rather than waiting for sales, for toys and other items you already know you want to buy.
