High-Risk Pregnancy

Newbie

Hi everyone.  I am 20 weeks pregnant with my 2nd child.   I had to go through fertility treatments to get pregnant.   I will be 36years old next month.   The doctors keep saying I should go to a High Risk Doctor due to my age, weight and pre-existing conditions...RA and asthma.      I know I don't want to go through any genetic testing.      I was wondering your experiences going to HR Doctor....and what should I expect from my first appointment Friday.

Thanks!

Re: Newbie

  • I did IVF and go to a high risk doc due to previous surgeries to correct fertility related things, see my siggy. I love going there, I feel well taken care of and I don't mind the conservative approach being it took us so long to get to this point. I had the NT testing done, but other than that no genetic testing. I'm younger than you, but I doubt they can force anything on you.

The majority of my appts now revolve around my cervix due to the cerclage and we've now added in growth scans every two weeks or so. Mind you most of this is due to my high anxiety about everything but they placate me anyway!
