no sickness yet...normal?

Hi everyone! This is my first pregnancy so I have no idea what to expect. I am currently 5w1d and feel pretty fine. I do have a heightened sense of smell, slight cramps once in a while and a little tired but overall I feel pretty good. Is this normal?

Should I be worried?

Re: no sickness yet...normal?

  • No need to worry. I don't really feel pregnant yet, and I'm thrilled about it. I feel like I got punched in the boobs and have had some cramps and other minor stuff, but that's it. I was sick already at this point with DD, so I'm kind of basking in the fact that I can still eat. Enjoy it while you can!

  • Im in the same boat, 6 weeks pregnant today. I haven't had any morning sickness. The most I have noticed is that Im more tired overall. This is my first, so I do not know if it is normal. I would be curious to know as well.

    Congrats btw.

  • I didn't get sick until 6 weeks with this pregnancy and DS. But you may not get sick at all. Hopefully you will be one if the lucky ones!!

  • I'm with you on the no sickness...yets (knock on wood).

This is our first pregnancy. I'm at 4 weeks 4 days. Once in a while I might get nuasea or heartburn (which I attribute to foods that normally give me heartburn), an occasional mild cramp and VERY mild almost sporadic breast soreness.

I've actually got a lot of energy and sometimes forget I'm even pregnant while running around at work. DH keeps telling me that maybe we're the "lucky" ones. I've read enough online that says you can have a healthy baby without exhibiting the "normal" pregnancy symptoms and even with low hcg levels (should that be the case). So I'm trying to not to stress too much about it.

When's your 1st Dr. appointment? Mine is on Monday and I imagine they'll let you know if there's anything to be worried about.

  • I asked my doctor about this yesterday. I'm pregnant with my second and aside from being tired, skin breakouts and my sore boobs, I don't have any symptoms.

With my baby girl, I was horribly sick from weeks 6-20. I was so nervous that something was wrong this time around. She reassured me that every pregnancy is different. There are women that get sick, women who may only have being tired as their symptom and other who just breeze through pregnancy. She told me she knows that it's hard, but just try to relax and go with the flow. I'm trying, but it's hard. I think I'll be a little calmer after my ultrasound next week.

  • Okay thanks everyone! I'm glad I am not alone here. My first appointment is not until 7 weeks so November 6th, which seems a life time away! I will just try not to worry and see what happens :)
  • It's normal. Don't worry. Not everyone gets morning sickness and those that do, some get it worse than others, and at different times. I had no morning sickness at all with my last baby. I had it just a little bit with DD1 and DD3 and I had it a LOT and at exactly the same time every day with DD2. If I ate or drank anything before 1 PM with DD2, I'd be in the bathroom throwing up. As long as I waited until after 1 PM to eat or drink, I was fine. Now, with this pregnancy, I've felt pretty good up until last night. I couldn't even look at food last night without feeling like I was going to throw up, and now today, I feel so nauseous it's not even funny. I tried eating a piece of toast to see if that would help and it just made me feel worse. Be happy you don't have any m/s yet!

  • I am feeling the exact same way, just a little more tired...and I noticed a definite increase in appetite the last two days! I am thinking positive, being thankful for feeling good, and hoping it stays this way!

  • I was fortunate enough to not have ANY morning sickness with DD1 and she was as healthy as could be. So far, I haven't felt any sickness......until this morning. Oh...my...goodness. Sight or smell of food sends me running. Good luck with everything and enjoy it's lack of presence! Smile

  • I am also 5 weeks 1 day and I am feeling just like you. Only symptoms are heightened sense of smell and sore boobs. I was the exact same way when I was pregnant with my son, in fact I never got sick the entire pregnancy. So don't worry about not feeling sick, enjoy the fact you are one of the lucky ones! I'm sure everything is probably fine!
