A friend is also expecting

Just found out that some good friends of ours are also expecting their first child.  She's 7 weeks, I'm six.  I'm happy for them, but also nervous.  DH and I aren't telling anyone yet for fear of m/c.  I haven't had hardly any symptoms, but she's been incredibly sick.  I know that every pregnancy is different, but I still worry that I'm going to m/c and she's going to go on to have a completely healthy pregnancy.  I pray that if that happens, I'll still be able to be happy for them!

Just needed to get that off my chest.  Thanks for listening!

Re: A friend is also expecting

  • Hey! I am going through same thing. A girl I have known since I was 2 or 3 and have gone to school with until graduating 12th grade just posted on FB yesterday. I sent her a text. I did tell her but asked her not to say anything on social media. She did call her mom right away (okay with me). But like you I am afraid for me and my outcome. She also has a ton of symptoms and apparently has a small baby bump and her clothes are getting too tight. I am also nervous b/c Doc doesnt know how far along I am and I saw a sac but nothing else last Monday.

  • My BFF from college is expecting too-- she's due in May. I was the first person she told about her pregnancy, and she vents to me about having "the worst pregnancy ever," at least once a week. I haven't told her I'm pregnant yet, because DH and I agreed to wait to tell people until we visit our families in Chicago next month. Every time I talk to her, I feel extremely guilty, like I'm lying to her. This morning, she texted me about crying over a cheeseburger, and I couldn't share my crying over a Charmin's toilet tissue commercial. 3 more weeks, and I can finally come out of the closet. 3 more weeks.

  • My cousin and I are 4 weeks apart.  I too share the same fears! Lets try and stay positive!

  • Is that a common side affect of a m/c, no symptoms? I just found out Im pregnant on Sunday with my first and according to the bump I am 6 weeks. Aside from a little tiredness I haven't noticed anything.
  • My best friend is pregnant too, due a week after me.  It's fun and exciting, but also adds extra worries, because I feel like it would be so much more devastating for one of us to suffer a loss after sharing this experience, and then having to wath the other continue a healthy pregnancy.

gl to you and your friend.

  • One of my best friends and I are a day apart. Our first LO's are 6 days apart and it's really fun! I pray for healthy pregnancys for both of us and thats really all I can do. Going through something like this with a close friend is pretty special and amazing!
