So I'm waiting for AF so I can start BCPs for IVF. Sunday was CD28, so despite having a super long 2nd PP cycle (47 days), I decided to start the look-out for her, just in case I went back to my normal schedule. Well, lo and behold, after a little searching (yes, I went in looking for her, if you will), there was significant bright red spotting. Great, I thought, she's on her way.
If only it were true! Monday, nothing. Tuesday, nothing. Today, the slightest bit of pink, unnoticeable unless you were looking for it. So there she is, sitting there, taunting me, dangling my IVF cycle in my face. What a biotch! ![]()
Re: AF is taunting me
If AF doesn't show by Monday, I'll take prometrium to get the ball rolling. I'd just rather have it come naturally is all.
It is so frustrating. Everything seems to be conspiring against me to cycle this year. First it was a false positive on the STD bloodwork that pushed back my saline sonogram. Not a biggie, except that last year when I had one, the RE found a poylp that needed to be removed, delaying me two months. So, now I'm worried she may find another one when they check during BCPs, and I won't get to cycle this year. I'll be 40 in a few months, so any delay is a big deal to me.
Regarding protocol, it looks like you'll be slightly ahead of me. Once I get AF I start BCPs between CD1-5 for 2 weeks, then a 2 day break, followed by microflare Lupron for 2 days, which then continues with stims. It looks like I won't start stimming until mid-November right now (the earliest would be Nov. 12th if I got on BCPs tomorrow, which isn't likely).
I'm happy to cheer you on, and wish you the best with your cycle. It seems like everyone who is doing IVF starts stimming in the next couple of weeks (I started another thread trying to see who will be cycling), so there may not be any cycle buddies for me.
What is it like being on Lupron? I've heard stories of some crappy side effects, like headaches and either fatigue or insomnia. I'm hoping it's not too bad, but will do what I have to do to get LO #2
