Last night and tonight about 10 minutes after putting Lydia to bed, she started crying. We allowed her to cry for about 15 minutes thinking she was just overly tired. After 15 minutes I went in her room to see what was up, and she was doing the pee-pee dance in her crib and pulling on her diaper. I immediately picked her up and placed her on the potty, and instantly she peed!
Then today at dinner, she started that whining and pulling at her diaper again. I took her to the potty, and she peed AND pooped!!!
OMG....I am seriously in shock. Who would have thought that a 14.5 month old would be this good at it?!? Very, very proud!

Well-- my son was trained by 18 months, so you never know. : )
This!!
Well...since my husband lost his job...YES, I do take cash! lol
But in all seriousness though-- this was all her doing. She is telling me she wants to go. It isn't me directing her anymore. She is like "Hey-- diapers suck! I need to go, Mom!"
Ahhh...true. The newborn stage could come back to haunt me! But this time instead of waking to breastfeed, it will be waking to go pee. Lovely. ;)o
Congrats! definitely brag worthy. So how did you know to try? What were the signs of interest?
Like everything else I feel totally lost and of course some dumb B put in my head that if you miss "the window" it'll be harder.
Yes, there is a window, and if you miss it, it can be a few months or years until they are ready again.
I knew to try because she was taking her diaper off. That tells me she was fully aware that she was going and didn't like it. Once she started doing that, I started randomly putting her on the potty. The first couple times she just sat there and did nothing or didn't seem interested. Then...one day she did the tugging and whining and went only on the potty, and then I knew it was on.
Stop it, that is UNBELIEVABLE!!!
Good job Lydia and good job Mama!
