Anyone have a Hyundai Elantra?

Thoughts? I think I might want one. Maybe a Sonata, but the Elantra is a little bigger inside then my current Grand Am. I don't need anything bigger and the Elantra gets GREAT gas milage!!

Re: Anyone have a Hyundai Elantra?

  • LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE my Hyundai Elantra. Did I mention I love it? Haha, but seriously, it's the BEST car. It's a 2011, I get on average 35-38 MPG. Bought it new in January 2011, so its coming right up on 2 years old. I loved it so much that both my sister-in-laws bought Elantras. I would HIGHLY recommend it. My father-in-law has a Sonata and as much as he loves it, he doesn't get as good of gas mileage and its not a ton bigger then the Elantra. You can get some really good deals on the Elantra too! My sister-in-law just got hers last week and she put $3,000 down and pays $150 a month for 5 years, I think DH said it comes out to about 17,000. The car was stickered at 22,500. Good luck!!

  • DH drives a 2010 Elantra Blue.  We don't know what the Blue part means.  It's a stick so it sometimes irritates me to drive it, but it's been a good car so far.  It seems to have plenty of room for being a smaller car.  Recommend it.
  • We are thinking about baby #2 and I worry about having enough room for two car seats. What do you think about the room in the back seat?
  • I'm still driving my 2001 Hyundai Elantra!  I have really loved it all along (up until the past two years...now it's starting to fall apart.)  They do get great gas mileage and are really roomy especially in the back.  I have definitely gotten my $12,000 worth!

I have an 08 Elantra. DD1 is in a FF convertible seat behind the passenger and DD2 is in a Graco Snugride behind me. I didn't have to move either seat to fit the carseats in.

I love my car! (Also I'll add that DH has a 2011 Sonata and I love that car too. There's definitely more leg room and it's a smoother ride.)

We are TTC #2 and I'm not worried about the room. I watch my BFF's DD sometimes and I've had two large carseats in there with no issues. That being said, we also own a Dodge Grand Caravan and that will be the primary mode of transportation with the kids. I wouldn't worry about not being able to fit 2 kids in the Elantra though, 3 kids definitely not.
