Car Accident [Now with PIP]

We got rear-ended on my way home from work today. Fortunately DD and I are fine, just really really shaken. I was sitting at a stop light when a woman rams into the back of my car and throws me into the car infront of me. My car is seriously f'ed up. I'm terrified it is totalled, this is the worst accident I have ever been in.
DD was very frightened. She wanted to get as far away from the car as she could afer the accident. She didn't mind riding in daddy's Jeep to come home don't.
Between DH and I we have been rear ended 9 times in not quite 5 years. This is DD's 2nd accident. Ugh... I am so glad we are moving in 6.5 weeks.

So glad you are all ok! It breaks my heart to think of any of our LOs so scared in that situation!
I'm glad you're ok and hopefully your LO will forget to be scared next time in the car.
Oh no! I'm so glad you guys are okay! That's a lot of times to be rear-ended. I think I would be happy to move also. Sounds like people around you are terrible drivers... Hopefully, LO forgets about being scared of the car.

And just think, if your car is totaled you won't have to worry about Evie being scared to get back in the car. (that's a twisted way to find the silver lining, though).

Given the amount of damage I think she'll have a little time to forget about the trauma. Or atleast when it is unbent up it will look like a different car to her.
The drivers around here are AWFUL. The woman who hit me's excuse was that she didn't know that traffic had stopped. We at the 2nd of 3 lights by the mall on the busiest street in town, at rush hour, next to the baby name board. How the frick do you not expect stopped traffic!
I guess I should just be pleased that she took responsibility for the accident and didn't try to bribe me with a $14 to not call the police.

I forgot you lived in the town with the baby name board! Sounds like awful drivers to be hit so often in a small town! I would think traffic often stops at a STOP LIGHT. I'm guessing the $14 bribe was from another accident? They all sound lovely. Sounds like you react well to these situations though, I'm not so sure I'd be so nice if someone destroyed my car with myself and my child inside it because they are unable to see stopped traffic.

We have been rear ended by a significant portion of the town's population. And the people at the body shop remember me and ask about DD.
It was the accident before this one that a teenage girl who was skipping school in her car that had brakes didn't "work too well" offered me all the money she had ($14) to forget the whole thing. Since I'd just had an estimate done to replace that bumber (cause someone had hit me 6 weeks earlier) I informed her that that alone was going to run $290.
I hope your definition of calm is that I didn't beat the shiit out of that woman, cause I was far from calm. I held it together just enough to not freak DD out any more than she was. Fortunately DH was able to leave work and be there in less than 15 min.

Sheesh EVM! You've had it rough! I'm glad you were both okay and I'm so sorry it happened. And I hate that it happened next to the baby name board too! It was the source of so much entertainment and now has bad memories.

I'm so sorry you and DD went through that! So scary!
That made me feel so old though. When we got back in the car DH and I reminisced about when we thought that was enough cash to try to bribe someone with. When we were her age that would have filled your gas tank and bought you coke.
