I delivered there and had an amazing experience. I will be going back for #2, even though we live over an hour away. I have to have a RSC, and my first c-section was unplanned emergency, and everything was handled so smoothly. I will continue to recommend them to anyone who asks. You'll find pros/cons to any hospital you visit, but I did really feel comfortable with the fact that they are connected so well with Children's for if there was ANY reason LO needed to be in the NICU, we knew that he/she was getting the best care possible. Feel free to message me if you've got any specific questions and I'll help you out the best I can
I agree with Star - DS had a freak accident his first day home from the hospital (wiggled out of DH's arms) and spent his first week in the PICU at Children's. The staff for the most part was absolutely fantastic!!! They're also set up for everything baby so if there was a need for an IV it wasn't as big of a process as I've seen elsewhere. I also like how they have reserved parking in the red lot for L&D "We've been expecting you!" LOL
My sister had her second baby their and said the staff was great! Their room was a little smaller than with DD #1 (at Woodwinds) but said overall they had a really good experience.
I had a scheduled csection there and loved it...I also work at children's St. Paul so felt very comfortable with having the nicu literally across the hall. My post partum room was tiny and at the end if the hall which got very crowded as visitors streamed through all daybeing an employee of the hospital every doctor and fellow nurse I work with felt the need to visit. That's my only complaint though. We'll be back there with 2 in July!
Sweet little girl AMM born 6/13/12 via scheduled csection. Surprised with a pregnancy in September, 2012 which ended in MC in October at 7.5 weeks. Surprised again(!) with another pregnancy in November. Baby due 7/19/13. Depo clearly does not work for us!
