Ah! Poor baby DD. I know I shouldn't set her on the bed and I always tell myself this will be the last time but I finally learned my lesson tonight. She and I lay on the bed in the morning and she is fully aware of the edge of the bed and knows how to turn herself around and slide off the bed to the floor (feet first.) Today I sat her on it for a second while I changed shirts and she somehow managed to fall off head first. I blinked and saw her falling and landing what looked like her head - I'm hoping it was her back. She didn't hardly cry and acted normally.
What has me freaking out is that she had a small spit up tonight which she hasn't done in quite awhile. I think it was because she has a cold and I gave her Tylenol she didn't want then did saline spray which went down her tummy. Then I pulled her quickly from her back to her feet and she had a spit up. I'm just worrying myself because don't people with concussions throw up? Of course it was right before bedtime. Ugh. Sorry, DH is tired of me bringing it up every five minutes. Would you be worried?
Re: Massive mom fail!
No. I wouldn't worry. Try to relax. That's what DHs are for. They let us know when we've lost it.
She'll be OK. You learned your lesson... she can't be trusted on your bed alone. No big deal. Welcome to the club.
Glad to hear she is ok! I was nervous after M's first dive off the end of the bed, but she was fine. I barely blinked - and she didn't even cry! - when she went over the edge the other day. She is now in love with the sensation of falling which is proving to be very nerve wracking!
Yay for sleeping through the night!
I would be the EXACT same way as you. You try to tell yourself not to worry then something out of the normal happens (the spit up) and you think the worse. I totally get it. Glad she is good!
I'm glad she slept for you!!
Liam fell off of a bar stool on to a tile floor and caught himself with his head. It was right after his third birthday. About thirty minutes after it happened, he started vomiting uncontrolably. He was fine. what I'm trying to say is that if it's really bad, you will know. Also, one of my friends was holding her 11 month old on a porch and the baby was wearing a Halloween costume. She decided to try and wiggle down and instead she fell on the concrete steps catching her fall with her head. It was terrible , but when she called the pedi they basically said "that's what soft spots are for."
