What are your LOs saying these days?

At our 1 year appt our Pedi wanted to know he had at least 3 words. In just the 2 months since his check-up, he's gained quite a few words.

Have they picked up any new words as well?  What are they saying?

Are you teaching sign?  What are they signing?

Re: What are your LOs saying these days?

  • DS says: hi, bye-bye, up, baby (he picked this up on his own and freaked me out with it!), dada, mama (but only when he's royally POd), uh-oh, nana (for both banana and Grandma), num-num (not really a word but he uses it to let us know he's hungry).

I feel like he has more words, I'm just forgetting them right now.  Oh he's trying to say "beep, beep" (that's what I say when I touch his nose, and he tries to say it when touching mine) but it's not clear enough for most people to understand what he's saying so I don't count it.

  • DD can say momma, dadda, puppy, doggie, ball, more, baby, beep beep, bye-bye,  and cheers.

She knows some signs: more, please, milk, eat/food.  I have been teaching her help lately though I haven't seen her actually use it.

  • I was just thinking this morning that I really need to note (and blog!) his list of words.  He's had a recent word-splosion!

He says mama, daddy, doggy, kitty, buh-bye, hi, ball, car, go dogs go (favorite book!), "a dog party" (from the favorite book), bubble, bath, uh huh (while nodding), eye, oh (meaning uh oh).

He signs more, help, bath, all done, and milk.

I think that's it.  It's so much fun...I am loving this stage!

  • I love hearing Max talk! His words are duck, dog, moo, baa, woof, meow (see a theme?) mama, da, baby, ball, bath, yes, no-no, more, MORE!, bee, buzz, up....There are more I'm sure. Of course some people might no be able to tell the difference between his dog and duck, but I sure can!

We also have a book of nursery rhymes and he can turn the pages and know which one is which and he'll sing the first word. It is the cutest thing ever. Ie. on the "bah bah black sheep" page he'll sing bah bah! And on the other ones he'll kind of sing something that sounds like how I sing it. I love it!

  • Not much at all. She's been trying to say uh oh, but like I said in another post, she's having trouble with 2 syllable words. So far just "da" "ma" "dom" and "gaw" for ball.
  • Uh.....mama and dada. We have our 15 month appt today and I'm nervous as to what the pedi will say.

  • We have 2-3 words here: "Hi" with intention, "Mama" randomly it seems; it's a stretch that DD said "Papa", and possibly "Hi" meaning "Hot" (when she wants to see what we are cooking).  She signs "dog" often and has signed "all done" and "milk" clear as day ... once or twice.  I'm waiting for the "word explosion".  My DH is a quiet man and it seems DD takes after him.  Thankfully she's an early walker and dancer, so that occupies me. • Lots of words.  If I say "say ---" she'll attempt most words, though some end up sounding like dada.  My favorites are banana and Nola (her friend).

The only signs she'll do are more (which she uses for want) and occasionally an all done.

  • He doesn't say very much that I can understand but he babbles all day. He says mama, dada, moos like a cow when asked what a cow says, hi (I think), that and he is trying to say something that sounds like truck or duck, but I'm not sure which.
  • She says:

    Dada
    Mama
    Hi
    Bye
    Book (ook)
    Ball
    Bath
    This (Dis)
    Kitty
    No
    Uh-Oh

    Signing?

She puts her hands up to say she's all done with dinner.

  • Ds says mama, dada, yes, no, cat, snack, cookie, byebye, this (and points) and he just started saying "not yet" which really surprised me. ( dd says this a lot though).
  • Um, normally I don't feel stressed about milestones, but this thread makes me feel inadequate on all kinds of parenting levels....
  • He is saying:

    hi

    bye

    mom

    daddy

    yes

    thank you (dank oo)

    dog

  • My Lo can say...

     Mama
     Dada
     Nana
    Papa
     ball
    doggy
    kitty
    bye
    hi
teeth & nose (And can point to them),
Aye (Thanks to Papa putting on spongebob when they hang out =/),
    Bubble
    Ow
Thanks & Please (It's rare to get her to say it)
Mhmmm (Which is what she says when she is hungry)
    Boom
    Uh-Oh
Oooohhh....! ( I don't know if that one counts lol)

She puts her hands up in the air when she is done eating and when she wants one of the singing animals to play music she will point to it and stop around in a circle.

I think that is everything but I feel like I am missing something...

You will never know how much you mean to me my little jelly Bean.
