Jujube Be Prepared w/ City Mini Double?

I really want the City Mini GT double stroller and the Jujube Be Prepared diaper bag. There's not a single store in the area that carries both so I'm trying to figure out if they will work together. Does anyone have both? Will the Be Prepared fit in the basket or is there a way to safely hang it?

Re: Jujube Be Prepared w/ City Mini Double?

  • I have both and haven't used them yet. I figured I'd hang from handle, bc the basket looks like it would be difficult to place anything large into it. I actually have the regular double and not GT so maybe there is a difference.

I'm pretty sure the basket is identical on the regular and GT. The basket is the one reason I haven't actually bought the stroller yet. I keep weighing what features are most important and I swear there's not a "perfect" stroller out there for me!

Do you plan on using clips to hang it? It seems like the handle is too wide for the strap to just slip over.

On my current stroller, I hate that if DD gets out with the diaper bag hanging from the back, the whole stroller tips over backwards. With the Be Prepared fully packed, I'm worried that if DD gets out of the stroller and my newborn is in the stroller, that it could tip over with baby in it. Obviously, that's a situation to completely avoid.

I have to play with it a bit more. I know the buttons come undone on the basket, but it's tight to get any large in there. Right now I throw the few things I need a MK tote or I grab my water, a diaper carrier, sippy and snack and put what I need in the basket. If I do use the clip I take it off and either throw it in the car or on my shoulder before I take DS out. I will play with it tomorrow and let you know how it fits around the back, w/ and w/out clips. It's ashame because the basket is big, but you don't have enough access to it. Either way, I really LOVE this stroller. I have single and love this one. I know they'll be comfortable, too.

    That would be great, thanks!

I know I could easily remember to take the diaper bag off first when loading into the car, I do that anyways. It's when we are at the zoo or something like that (which we do often) that I worry I would forget about the diaper bag and pull DD #1 out to see or do something. Our all day outings are also the reason a feel like I need a giant diaper bag. I'm a pretty good packer, but we will be needing diapers for two and we use cloth so they're bigger, snacks, drinks, the works.

I'm really excited about the City Mini GT double. I was completely sure it was the one I wanted and then I saw a Bumbleride Indie Twin on sale and it has a huge, very easy to access basket. I would be sacrificing some other great features though so now I'm torn.

Where did you see the Bumbleride on sale?!?!  I think thats the double I want!

Also to the PP who was talking about not finding a stroller that has it all... check our Valco Baby.  I am starting to think they may have the best doubles on the market.

It's at ecomom.com under "sale". It only come in one color, Ocean which is the dark blue but it's $566. I don't know what year model it is. If I was going to buy it, I might call and check that first.

I'm also the one who said I can't find a stroller that has it all. I did consider the Valco Baby Tri Mode EX Twin and it does look pretty great. My complaints about it are again about the basket underneath. This is another stroller a can't find in town to see in person, but I watch baby gizmo videos on all the strollers I consider and the way the basket is split up appears pretty awful. I'm also not a fan of the way it folds and unfolds, or the weight. If you have a Valco stroller, feel free to correct me on any of these points. I really wish there was a store around to see them all in person!

I don't love the Tri-Mode, I think for that type of capability the Bumbleride is a better choice.  I am thinking that I may go with the Zee Two though.  It's got a huge basket, car seat capability, not all terrain but pretty good tires and independent reclines/sun shades.  I like it more than the City Mini I think for the basket alone.

Are you needing a true all terrain stroller?

I had not seen the Zee Two, I don't know how I missed it. The only thing I don't like about that one are the wheels. I do feel like we need all terrain for what we do. I would say more than 50% of our use is outdoors and often not on sidewalks or smooth surfices. Thanks for the suggestion though. It does have a huge nice basket which I obviously love!

The strap is adjustable and fits fine over the double handle bar! I have the earth leather one, but sure they're all the same. There is no way to shove the bag underneath...would definitely be a PITA. The bag also has hooks for clips so will definitely be doing that. If we go to the zoo, I'll probably do what I normally do and throw the heavy items from diaper bag underneath. I'm happy with both purchases!

Those are all great things to know! Thank you so much for trying it out for me!
