For about 10 years DH loved the name Liam because at the time it was unique. Well now it is currently ranked as the #1 baby name for boys in 2012. Any other cool Gaelic name suggestions for boys? I want to try and find another one my DH will love too.

Not sure where you are getting the ranking of #1 for 2012? I don't think the rankings have come out yet for 2012, seeing as the year is not yet over.
It looks like it was #15 in 2011 according to the SSA-- which is very popular.
Are you looking for a specifically Irish name?
What about
Eamon
Cillian
Cyan
Seamus
Lachlan
Padriag
Cormac
Callum
Rafferty
Edited to fix spelling and add a name

My Irish-born friend has two sons... Liam and Trevor. Another friend was considering Corwyn/Corwin, which I also believe is Irish.
Not sure if these are all Irish, but I've heard of Irish folks with these names:
Eoin, Niall, Darragh, Kerry,Ian, Ciaran, Kevin, Brendan, Malachi, Connor, Sean, Alastair.
I live in an area with mostly people of Irish heritage (although not first generation and currently evolving)... some of these are just commonly used among Irish people, not necessarily Gaelic in origin:
Eamonn
Ronan
Rowan
Owen
Rory
We have a Mc last name and DH family is Irish (with cousins "over there") they approved of our boys names... Martin and Emmett and cousins Conor and Brendan. If baby #3 is a boy, Rory and Owen are on our list.

Here in the power of Christ I stand.
Ewan isn't Irish, it's Welsh.
I personally like Niall, Cormac, Eamon, Cavan, and Rowan. I would caution you though that names like Rowan and Rory are also used on girls. So I wouldn't personally use them.
Eh, yeah I missed that Gaelic part! My bad. I still think they sound cute together and have the same kind of flavor

LOL my DH feels the same way about me being a teacher....it's hard to pick a name because you can almost always attribute them to a student that you once had (and usually it wasn't a good experience
There was a picture of a Brogan's Pub on my Ireland day-by-day calendar a few years back and I ripped it out, determined that I would name my son Brogan. DH vetoed it b/c he thought it was made up. Now I've heard of a few IRL.
