Minnesota Babies

St. Paul pediatricians

Any already moms out there have a pediatrician they can recommend in the St. Paul area? I am the first of my friends in the area to have a baby so I have no one I can ask. I have been tempted to just start asking strangers with babies on the street. But I thought I would start here first. :)

Re: St. Paul pediatricians

  • I drive 30 minutes to Bloomington for my regular pedi, but I've used Central Pediatrics/Priority Pediatrics for a few urgent care visits and they have been great.  They have a location in Woodbury and St. Paul.

  • My youngest sister takes my nephew to Dr. Pettey at St. Paul Children's Hospital.  My middle sis is a peds resident at the U and she recommended her.
  • We absolutely love Central Pediatrics, which is on the northern border of St. Paul.

The hours are fantastic (open until 9pm on weekdays and on weekends) and we have always gotten in very quickly when needing urgent care, etc.

Our primary is Dr. Sackett, but we've also seen Dr. Jaegar and Dr. Ray and really liked both of them.  If you are having a little boy and prefer him to see a male doctor, I have heard from friends that Dr. Ritchart is absolutely fantastic.

  • I have been very happy with Mendakota Peds in West St. Paul.

I used to work at Children's Hospital in St. Paul and the pediatricians at the clinic there were all very highly recommended.  It's been a few years, so not sure who is still there, but when I was there the doctors were McCord, Zimny, Peterson, and Wegmann.

    Mine too!

We thought about going to her, but since she is getting towards retirement age decided to go with someone else.

We see Dr. Saxton at Pediatric and Young Adult Medicine, and I LOVE her. My favorite part of their practice is that when you have a question (during business hours), you get to speak directly with your doctor without having to leave a message and wait for a call back. No nurse line, just straight through to the doctor. Love it.

  • I realize I am a little late to the game but I also recommend Dr.Pettey at Children's. I have brought both my dd's to her and love her to death. She is amazing. Actually all the doctors at that clinic are. However we have changed to a clinic closer to our house now.
  • Being that this post is a bit old, I realize that you may not still be in need of a pediatrician referral.  But for the other people stumbling upon this thread, I would like to suggest a clinic.  Dakota Pediatrics is a great, family-focused practice that I always refer my friends and family to...the best part is they are based in the South St. Paul/ Inver Grove Heights area.  They offer evening hours, which is great for working families, and also urgent care.  Visit their website here for more info

What exactly is your role at this clinic? Sorry, but this is pretty blatant spam.
