How can an EM get to know us?

So, after the call last week that an EM wanted to speak with us, she & I have been emailing back and forth every day or so. She said she wants to get to know us better. Besides our profile, I've told her about our life here and our families. DH is going to email with her separately, so she can get a sense of him and his personality.

Any recommendations on how else for us to get to know each other? So far, we're only emailing. She is in college, so I think her schedule is pretty tight, but maybe phone calls are next. Not sure where to go from here.

I'm don't want to force it and I know that if this match is meant to be, it will happen. I just don't want for her to feel overwhelmed. I know I haven't even met her, but I feel a little protective for her, based on what I already know. She seems like a really nice girl and I don't know if she has much support.

I don't know if there's a perfect answer to this. I'd just keep communicating, however you can, and start learning about each other.

Do you have a SW or agency rep that could facilitate the process? Our agency made our first meeting so comfortable by preparing both us & our BM as to how it would go, what would be discussed, etc. You could do something like this in person or through Skype/Facetime/Tango.

Could you send her some more pictures, of like your home, pets, vacation photos, extended family? This may be completely corny but maybe you could also do a little fun survey with favorite foods, movies, candy, holiday, etc. I'm not sure how casual she is though, I'd probably only do that if she seems like she'd enjoy it, if she's more serious maybe just the pictures.

I think if she wants to get to know you the best thing is just continued contact - maybe ask your agency if they want to facilitate an actual meeting but like you said I understand the concern of overwhelming her.

Thanks, all! I did get some input from the agency, but they just said to see how it goes. I guess we'll just keep emailing back and forth and hope for the best!

Let her know in your next email that she can ask you anything. See what questions she might come up with.

I definitely recommend video Skype or Facetime... It's more personal than an audio-only phone call, and you can show her what your life is like?live!
